Stripe and PayPal records can be presented together to explain a UK business’s total trading activity. Whether a finance provider includes both in its assessment is a separate question. A platform-specific funding product does not automatically treat all sales processed elsewhere as eligible sales.
Understand bank-data access with our guide, Open Banking Business Loans UK: Eligibility & Faster Checks.
The practical approach is to prepare a reconciled view of both channels, identify existing funding and ask the proposed provider exactly which receipts it will assess and collect against.
Distinguish a whole-business assessment from a platform offer
Stripe’s UK Capital page says eligibility depends on factors including Stripe payment volume and history, with funding provided by YouLend and subject to final review. It does not promise that PayPal sales will automatically be added to a Stripe offer. Source: Stripe Capital UK.
PayPal’s UK Working Capital guidance describes selecting a percentage of future PayPal sales to repay the advance and fee. That is a product-specific collection arrangement, not a general promise to combine any outside processor’s transactions. Source: PayPal Working Capital application guidance.
An outside finance provider may request a broader picture. Ask it to confirm whether both channels are supported, how it verifies the figures and which sales will determine payments under the proposed agreement.

Build a channel-by-channel revenue schedule
Start with matching reporting periods. Use the same calendar months for Stripe and PayPal where possible, and explain any difference between transaction dates and settlement dates.
A useful schedule has separate columns for gross receipts, refunds, disputes, processing charges, funding deductions and net payouts. Keep the legal business and currency clear for each account.
For a hypothetical month:
| Channel | Gross customer receipts | Refunds | Receipts after refunds, before other charges |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe | £30,000 | £1,500 | £28,500 |
| PayPal | £15,000 | £500 | £14,500 |
| Combined | £45,000 | £2,000 | £43,000 |
The £43,000 figure is not profit or final bank cash. Processing costs, other adjustments, finance collections and operating expenses still need to be accounted for.
Prepare the supporting records using our guide, UK Business Loan Bank Statements: What Underwriters Check.
This example assumes distinct customer transactions belonging to the same applicant. If the accounts serve different legal entities or contain overlapping records, those issues must be resolved before combining the figures.
Avoid counting the same order twice
A store dashboard may already include orders paid through both Stripe and PayPal. Adding the store’s full sales total to both processor totals can dramatically overstate revenue.
Use order references or other available identifiers to confirm how each payment is represented. The aim is one count per genuine sale, followed by a reconciliation of the payment and settlement.
Compare payment flexibility in our guide, Flexible Repayment Business Funding UK: Fixed vs Sales-Based.
Transfers between payment accounts or from a payment account to the bank are not new customer sales. Neither are owner contributions or funds received from another lender.
Keep a note of any transaction that appears in more than one report. The provider should be able to trace the summary back to original records without relying on an unexplained spreadsheet total.
Separate legal entities and currencies
Two accounts may use the same trading brand while belonging to different companies. Do not combine them into one applicant’s revenue without explaining the structure and obtaining the provider’s requirements.
For multiple currencies, retain the original figures and document the conversion used in the summary. A pound total should not be created by simply adding euro and dollar amounts.
Where customer receipts and business costs are in different currencies, test a less favourable conversion in the cash forecast. The amount available for a sterling payment can change even when the number of orders stays the same.
Compare cash-flow funding structures in our guide, Cash Flow Loans UK: Compare Short-Term Funding Options.
If an account recently moved to a new legal entity, show the date and the history clearly. An account name change alone does not explain who earned earlier revenue or who is responsible for the proposed funding.
Ask what the provider means by combined sales
Before applying, ask whether combining data affects only the assessment or also the collection mechanism. These are not necessarily the same.
A provider might review the whole business to understand affordability while collecting from a defined account. Another arrangement might require data or payment access across multiple channels. The actual proposal must explain the supported method.
Questions to resolve include:
- Are both Stripe and PayPal receipts accepted for this product?
- Which legal entity must own the accounts?
- Are the figures assessed before or after refunds and charges?
- What statements or account connections are required?
- Which sales determine collections?
- What happens if the payment mix changes?
Do not assume an offer based on one channel increases in direct proportion to the addition of another. Funding decisions also depend on the provider’s wider assessment.

Disclose existing finance on both channels
List every current advance, loan and other finance commitment, even if it is visible only in one platform. Include the outstanding obligation, collection rate or instalment, and any minimum or final payment conditions.
For an invented example, assume an existing Stripe-related arrangement collects £2,000 a month and a separate PayPal-related obligation collects £1,000. A new proposal adding £1,500 would bring the combined forecast to £4,500, before other obligations.
Review the guarantee questions in our guide, Fast Business Loans Without a Personal Guarantee UK.
The business must evaluate that total. Looking at the new £1,500 alone understates the burden on operating cash.
Check whether the existing contracts permit further finance and whether the new provider intends to settle an old balance. If refinancing is intended, obtain a written breakdown of the settlement and the cash actually released to the business.
Model a change in payment mix
Combined revenue can remain stable while the share processed through each channel changes. That can affect collections if an agreement is tied to only one channel.
Suppose total monthly receipts remain £40,000, but Stripe receipts fall from £30,000 to £20,000 while PayPal receipts rise from £10,000 to £20,000. A hypothetical 10% collection linked only to the Stripe base would fall from £3,000 to £2,000, even though overall receipts have not changed.
This is not a reason to divert sales. It is a reason to understand the agreement’s payment and trading obligations before making operational changes. Ask the provider how to handle a genuine change in customer payment preferences or checkout configuration.
Include any minimum payment requirement in the forecast separately. Lower automatic collections do not establish that the remaining contractual conditions have been met.
Compare proposals on usable cash and total obligations
Ask providers to quote for the same net funding requirement. Compare total payable, collection timing, guarantees, security, early-settlement treatment and any required changes to processing.
For a planned stock purchase, test the period before inventory sells. For equipment, allow for installation and training. For marketing, include the delay between spending and customer receipts.
Run normal and weaker-sales forecasts with realistic margins and all existing commitments. The combined sales total is only the beginning; the cash left after delivering those sales is what supports funding.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine Stripe and PayPal statements in an application?
You can prepare both to explain the business, but the provider must confirm which records and receipts it accepts for the proposed product.
Will PayPal Working Capital automatically include Stripe turnover?
Do not assume that. Its published collection description is tied to PayPal sales. Ask PayPal about the eligibility treatment of your specific account and circumstances.
Can I add store sales to processor sales?
Only if they represent genuinely separate transactions. Store totals often already include payments processed through those channels, so reconcile before adding them.
Does combining revenue guarantee a larger offer?
No. Additional information can improve the assessment picture, but approval and the amount remain the provider’s decision.
Discuss funding with reconciled figures
To explore options, contact Mehmi Financial Group with the amount required, both channels’ statements and existing finance details. Ask which providers can assess the arrangement and compare written terms. This article does not imply an affiliation with Stripe, PayPal or YouLend.
